Emirates Airlines in Cape Town, Western Cape - Emirates: EXTREMELY bad organisation of flights....

I am frequent flyer to Dubai and about 4wks ago I had my 1st Emirates experience and what a disappointment.I was booked on Emirates flight from CPT to DBX and from there I was suppose to fly to LON(Gatwick). In CPT flight kept on being delayed and eventually flight was cancelled with no explanation and waited for 6hrs before we were helped.Next day went back to airport to rebook my flights.Stood in a *** for 3hrs before I received any assistance. When I rebooked the lady refused to rebook my window seat and said I have to take whatever she gives me because everyone has a problem. With cancellation I missed my connection to LON and waited 6hrs in DBX before next flight. In DBX I only found out that I am landing in LONHeathrw and not Gatwick-they never told me they changed my destination!I paid a train ticket in advance from Gatwick into LONcentral which I couldnt use.14 July I was on my way back to CPT and again my flight was delayed 2hrs because petrol tanks was faulty.Missed my connection to CPT and end up taking 2 flights back to CPT.I long transferred luggage in LON and with delays & new flights they never told us to collect luggage in JHB!Extremely inconvenient & dissapointing!

And if you dont know where to pick up your luggage you have to look at the sticker that you receive at the check in counter, which indicates that fact.

I agree it is inconvenient when your flight gets canceled or delayed but it happens on all airlines, not only on Emitates.

But did you even read what you wrote?

You said that after the cancellation when you were rebooking your flight the lady refused to give you a window seat. Well, did you think that an aircraft has 300 window seats? If they were already taken did you expect that she would produce one for you?

Further you said you missed your connection to LON.

There is not such a thing as a LON airport abbreviation.

You would have found out earlier that you were going to LHR (Heathrow) if you had looked at your ticket. If it said LHR on it instead of LGW (Gatweek) that means that the plane is going to Heathrow and the captain didnt just change the root during the cruise just to *** you off.

Emirates Airlines in London, England - Bullying by the Emirates Ticketing Staff

I was due to travel from Heathrow to Dubai by Emirates Airlines on 20th June 2010 at 1415 hrs.At the ticketing counter, 4-5 arab ticketing staff got in a bullying attitude with me on account of my excess baggage.Though i was alone and finally started weeping, it did not stopped them from threating me with the flight cancellation. I was surprised at their bullying attitude and the reason why 4 -5 ladies had to gather for the occasion. I want the emirates to look into this incident seriously as it has already lost me as a customer and are likely to loose more because of these ill trained arrogant arabis ticketing staff ladies at the heathrow airport. I would also like if my humiliation is addressed by the airlines. My name is Nadia. My no. is 0447772182795

The fact is Arabs are still not mentally out of the desert, and with the latest slump in oil demand they seem to be headed back there again. Just as well, they belong there.

While initially Emiraties would seem better compared to Saudis, when the chips are down their inner Arab comes out.

That is why you see mostly expats in customer facing jobs, such as hostesses. None of their businesses would work if they had Arab's in customer service.

A good example is the recent Saudization drive in saudi, where they are replacing expats with saudis to ward off any Arab spring by the increasingly restless citizens who are seeing their income dwindling.

The result is the banks and telephone services have gone south. I called Mobily, the cell phone customer service, and pressed 2 for English but still ended up with someone who spoke no English.

Inga must be a comment submitter drone hired by emirated to defend this *** airline, the fact that inga is calling the commenter's country 'messy' without even knowing which country is she from is pure prejudice.

I feel sorry for you Nadia. You are one of these people who want to bring half of your belongings on the flight and then shout at the poor air crew that there is no space for it onboard.

In Europe if you are allowed to have e.g.32 kg in your suitcase (that is how much Emirates allows) that means no more than that. There are RULES to follow. It is not like probably in your messy country, where you can do whatever.

Your suitcase doesnt jump to the cargo by itself but it is handled by people therefore it cannot exceed a certain weight and the fact that you are crying is not going to help. You are just embarrassing yourself.

Emirates Airlines in Cape Town, Western Cape - Informed me on flight cancellation only 3 hours before departure

On my way to the airport Emirates airlines phoned me to say I was not flying this 20th of May 2010, because Duabai would not take passengers headed for Düsseldorf, due to the Volcanic ash cloud. During this rather late call Patricia from the call centre assured me they would book me on the next best flight. I found out the next day that this was not so, and sinds I enquired a day later my next available option was the only 1th of May! This was a three month trip, and I had made expenses, arranged shuttle service, put goods in storage etc. It is pathetic that they have no facility where customers can can contact them and express their grievances.

Emirates Airlines in Delhi, Delhi - Emirates- cold behaviour

WHILE FLYING WITH EMIRATES FLIGHT FROM DUBAI TO INDIA, FLIGHT NO. EK 517, ME AND MY BROTHER FACED THE COLDEST BEHAVIOUR OF EMIRATES STAFF i.e. OF AIR HOSTESS. WE BEING PURELY VEGETARIANS PRECISELY MENTIONED THE DETAILS OF AVAILING VEG FOOD AT THE FLIGHT. NOW THE CATCH WAS WE WERE ALLOTTED SEATS ALMOST AT THE END, SO BY THE TIME SERVICE REACHES US THE VEG STOCK WAS OVER AND MY BROTHER WAS NOT SERVED WITH THE VEGETARIAN FOOD. WHEN HE ASKED FOR IT FOR ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES THEY JUST IGNORED IT BY SAYING THAT THEY HAVE NO MORE VEG FOOD LEFT. LATER THEY JUST BRING A PLATTER: 1. WHICH WAS "NOT SEALED" 2. SEEMS TO BE AS IN THE RESIDUALS OF OTHERS HAS BEEN COLLECTED N SERVED 3. THERE WAS NO BREAD IN IT 4. THE MENU WAS DIFFERENT AS WAS SERVED TO OTHERS. WHEN WE ASKED TO GET US A SEALED ONE THEY SAID WE DONT HAVE IT, ITS "FINISHED". I ASKED THEM TO TAKE MY PLATTER AS WELL IF THEY CANNOT PROVIDE FOOD TO MY BROTHER THEN EVEN I'LL NOT HAVE IT, THEN THEY AS IN SEEMS TO BE VERY HAPPY TOOK PLATE OFF ME "IMMEDIATELY". WELL ACTUALLY THE AIR HOSTESSES WERE NON-INDIANS AND THEY DONT UNDERSTAND OUR INDIAN CULTURE OR RATHER THEY WERE ALIENS BECAUSE I DONT THINK IN ANY COUNTRY SUCH COLD BEHAVIOUR IS ACCEPTABLE. WELL ALL I WOULD LIKE TO ASK IS, WE WERE ON A BUSINESS TRIP TO DUBAI, WHAT IF WE HAVE TO PAY EMIRATES FOR THEIR FLIGHT AT THE END i.e. WHILE REACHING OUR HOMES AND I SAY THAT NOW ALL OUR MONEY IS OVER AND SPENT ON THE TRIP AND NOW WE ARE LEFT WITH NO MORE MONEY "SORRY" THEN WHAT WOULD THEY HAVE DONE???

Emirates Airlines in Dubai, Dubai - Business class seat lottery unacceptable bordering on fraudulent

Am sitting in Dubai Emirates Business Class Lounge having just flown in this morning from London on EK006 en route to Dhaka Bangladesh. When we boarded at Heathrow last night I was surprised and very disappointed to see the oldest style business class seats rather than the new full-flat pods with large LCds I saw on my previous Emirates business flight. In fact previous time I flew in June I had the nice new seats both directions DXB-LHR. I actually find bordering on fraudulent/misrepresentation that Emirates continue to persist with this business class seat "lottery". This year I have flown on Eithad business twice to London and also Virgin and BA and seats are always the same and consistent quality. Why does Emirates management believe it is fair and equitable for them to offer a substandard business class product for the same fare as their competitors. I tried to complain to the lady in reservations in the Emirates Lounge and she said I should fill out a form (I'm pretty sure they won't respond). I asked her to check whether my return DXB-LHR on Sep 15 was new or old seats. She could not tell me that either but suggested I check when I get to lounge on Sep 15(not sure what I can do at that stage). I fly London-Dhaka every month business and had tried Eithad twice and was please with previous Emirates experience. But after today's business class seat rip-off there is no reason for me to waste money on Emirates again. I have read of many other passengers who have the same frustration on Emirates with randon seats/planes and poor customer service response. Senior management should stop wasting time on A380 glory purchases and focus on providing high quality consistent service to customers. I for one will be extremely reluctant to travel emirates again unless I have to...

Emirates Airlines in Nairobi, Nairobi - Lack of PR by Emirates Staff

My name is Salmaan Irani and i reside in Kisumu, Kenya. we (immediate family) are frequent flyers on emirates airlines for many reasons mainly the baggage allowances and the dubai duty free. I was to fly to Pakistan with my mother in March 2009 and purchased the ticket from a travel agent based here in Kenya. Before the flight we confirmed with agent as well as on the Emirates website regarding the checked baggage allowance which was confirmed to be 30KG per passenger. We had an 18 our stopover in Dubai at which Emirates staff flatly refused us a hotel stay and only allowed one meal during this entire period, we landed in Dubai at 5.35AM on flight EK722 and were to depart on flight EK622 at 10.35PM to lahore, we were told that emirates only provides hotel or lounge access ONLY on long haul flights, it later came to our attention that many flyers from Pakistan and India are provided these facilities if requested. Why was our request denied? My mother is middle aged and suffers from Asthma we had no place to rest or freshen up and were only provided with a voucher for ONE MEAL during this stop-over. While in Pakistan, we extended the date for the return flight the first time at the Emirates Office in Multan and requested to purchase an MOC (or MCO) for additional baggage which we were informed by other friends and relatives who have used this facility to purchase additional baggage allowances at US$2 per Kg and that this can be done at any Emirates office, apparently no one in Emirates Pakistan had ever heard of this facility. Anyways, we paid the US$50 charges and were issued with the receipt by the staff at Emirates Multan Office, During this period i got engaged to be married and had to change the date again, I was informed by a staff at the Emirates call centre in Karachi that i can miss the flight and when i go confirm the next date i can pay the US$50 charge then. Which i did. Initially the return flight was from Lahore to Dubai but we were informed that all flights were fully booked ("It is NOT possible to get any seat from Lahore"). We were then forced to get a local flight to Karachi and fly to Dubai from there at a later date (20th April2009) This date change was done by the Travel agent in Kenya and the US$50 (per passenger) charge paid by him as Emirates will not effect the date change until the payment has been received. We were informedby the agent and the E-Tickets were issued (I have the ticket numbers if anyone needs to confirm this). Please note that on the flight to Lahore our checked baggage total was 58kg for 2 Passengers and we had NO PROBLEMS regarding the baggage allowance. On arrival in Karachi for the return flight to Kenya (i was already married and was travelling with my spouse and mother) is where ALL the problems started. At the check-in for this flight our bags were weighed and were found to be 95 kg in total. At a 30 KG allowance we were prepared to pay for the extra 5 Kg. This was not to be as first the lady at the counter said our allowance is only 20KG per passenger leaving us with an extra of 35kg but they will give a relief of 20kg thus making us pay for the remaining 15kg. We tried to make it clear to the lady at the check-in counter that according to the emirates website the allowance is 30kg and we can show it to her which she flatly refused saying it is a waste of her time and moreover what ever is shown on the website comes into effect after 4th May 2009. We then asked for the supervisor who was a lady and turned out to be even more arrogant and thick headed, for she first reprimanded the lady at the counter for giving a "relief" of 20kg. PS all this is happening about 40min BEFORE departure time (it basically took us over 2 hours 30 min to check in) all this time trying to talk to the most arrogant batch of airport personnel. We had to pay Pakistani Rupees 30,200 at the check in for which a receipt was issued. after this at the immigration counter one Emirates official comes up and says that we have to pay the US$100 for two tickets change of date, he said that the "System does not reflect any payment made" PLEASE NOTE THIS IS HAPPENING AT THE IMMIGRATION COUNTER. he then takes US$100 from me and says he will have the receipt issued at the Boarding gate as the flight was getting delayed. THIS WAS NOT DONE and no receipt was issued. It is here in Kenya after our arrival that we asked the travel agent and he informed us that the US$100 had been paid when the date change was effected. This was an extremely terrible experience and the arrogance and lack of understanding has left a terrible taste in our mouth on the services offered by this airline. One of our relatives is now using another airline and we are thinking about doing the same. My questions are as follows: 1). Why were we only allowed one meal in 18 hours during the stop over and no hotel stay? 2). Why are Pakistani staff so ill informed regarding the services offered about the airline they are working for? 3). How can the airline condone the harrassment received by passengers at the Karachi Airport? 4). NO where on the website is it mentioned that the baggage allowance shown is Valid AFTER 4th May 2009.(Baggage Allowance Calculator). 5). What about the additional charge of US$100 paid to the Airline staff at KArachi Airport for which no receipt was issued. Please note we were informed that we will NOT be allowed to board the plane if the US$100 is not paid. I would appreciate to receive some feedback from Emirates regarding the above and would like to hear from some one at the Emirates. PS. we are both Skywards memebers and the Supervisor at the Emirates counter in Karachi even refused us from purchasing skywards miles she said in Verbatim "GO TO THE EMIRATES OFFICE AND ASK THEM" my e-mail address is salmaan_i@yahoo.com or salmaan_i@hotmail.com

I was travelling from Luanda, Angola back to the Philippines. We transited at Dubai Airport for 5 hours.

When I arrived in Manila and retrieve my luggage at the baggage counter I noticed that my padlocked was forced open and I instantly check the contents of my luggage and found out that the cash and rolex watch were no where to be found. I hope Emirates Airlines would be responsible for this because that was a hard earned money.Anyone who could help me would be a great relief thanks...
